ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Megan Halliday is a youth work practitioner, music educator and the founder of Create Breathe and Be. Megan brings over two decades of performance, music education, and youth development experience to her work. A graduate of the Australian College of Entertainment in Sydney, Megan is trained in vocal, performance, acting, and dance.

Megan holds degrees in Youth Welfare and Performing Arts and is a certified and registered Yoga and Meditation Teacher. She has a current Working with Children Check, is a Creative Kids Provider and is a certified member of NSW Youth Work. Holding a TAE formally recognised educational design qualification Megan has expertly designed, structured and contextualised the program within standard that align seamlessly with school syllabus and wellbeing support priorities.

Megan initiated and led a multi-year community advocacy initiative that supported the Australian foster care system alongside community based organisations after her lived experience as a foster carer. Her approach is the same in all roles: trauma-informed, child focused, and strengths-based. Megan empowers young people to be their best selves, and champions every child’s right to find strength in who they are becoming. Create Breathe and Be fosters coping skills and strength-based strategies via the arts for a healthy and creative outlet, in a much needed time for school age children.
